Program Overview
Point Alliance’s SharePoint QuickStart program is designed to accelerate the design, configuration and launch of your Intranet site. As part of the program we will also provide the knowledge transfer necessary for you to maintain your own intranet site in the future.
The QuickStart program is a low cost, low risk and fast way to launching a SharePoint initiative, and providing a production SharePoint environment. The Program requires minimal financial investment and limited involvement from your IT resources.
Pre-requisites
- Windows Server 2003
- Active directory with user properties defined
- Microsoft SQL Server 2005
Timeline
Point Alliance’s QuickStart program has a goal of launching your new intranet site within 3 weeks.
Deliverables
- A Roadmap for your organization with a long-term SharePoint solution.
- An installed and configured version of SharePoint, giving your company the capability to use SharePoint with basic capabilities.
- Training for your organization’s employees in a train the trainer format.
- A final refined Roadmap and Next Step recommendation to your organization’s decision makers on how to proceed to most effectively leverage the power of SharePoint within your company.
QuickStart Phases
- Prep for On-Site Work - System Readiness Assessment
- Vision, Scope, Analysis and Design - This is an abbreviated planning session. If required, deeper dives in each area can be arranged outside the Quick Start process.
- Kick-off Meeting - Identify goals and objectives
- Analysis - Match requirements with SharePoint features
- Planning - Decide on appropriate SharePoint version and architecture
- Installation and Configuration - Windows SharePoint Services (WSS) or Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 (MOSS)
- Training - Knowledge Transfer and operational best practices in a train-the-trainer format for end user training
