Toronto, ON (March 4, 2010)- Over 30 IBM Lotus users in the Toronto community gathered on Wednesday, March 3rd for the Toronto Lotus User Group’s first event of the year.

Claude Cossette, IBM Lotus Technical Sales Specialist kicked off the evening by sharing highlights from Lotusphere 2010, followed-up by a product review of ‘What’s New’ with Lotus Notes 8.51. John Zarei, Chief Information Officer at Point Alliance Inc. shared tips and best practices with the group to benefit all types of Lotus users. The event wrapped up with a draw for an Apple iPod, which was given to lucky winner, Joe Federer at Kinetic Synergy Inc.

Cindy Lai, Co-ordinator of the Toronto Lotus User Group, is very pleased with the event and the group’s role in the Lotus community. “With Toronto being such a large IT market, we wanted to provide as much support to Lotus users to help them stay competitive. Toronto Lotus User Group was created as a place for Lotus users to turn to for help, whether it is training or education- support that they might not have access to otherwise.” When it comes to group events, Lai explains that the main goal is to help users work more efficiently. “Aside from providing our members with important updates and product news, we wanted to focus on sharing knowledge that could ultimately help users- whether its by saving money, or time. That is where our members see the most benefit, and it is what we strive to achieve each event.”

With the success of the first event under their belt, the Toronto Lotus User Group is already looking forward to the next one, schedule for Thursday, June 10th.
